Sarah Wolferstan has been European Project Manager at the Centre for Applied Archaeology, the consultancy and applied research division of the Institute of Archaeology, University College London (UCL), since 2009. 

Recent projects include a Sector Skill Alliance in Entrepreneurship for the Cultural and Creative sectors (Educckate), training development for Heritage Interpretation (Delphi), and skills development for community participation in Heritage (People Places Stories). 

Over the last ten years, she has also provided advice on World Heritage nominations and management plans, developed training and policy advice for the Council of Europe (CoE) and advised UK heritage authorities on mitigating the impact of development through UCL’s commercial archaeology division, Archaeology South East. In 2010-11 and 2013-14 she was teaching assistant for the Cultural Heritage Studies MA, and lectures for the MA in Archaeological Heritage Management. 

Prior to working for UCL and the CoE, she worked in the humanitarian sector at the United Nations World Food Program, and the International Organisation of Migration in Rome, Italy, and, immediately after graduating, as a commercial archaeologist for Cambridge Archaeological Unit. She has a BA Hons in Archaeology and Anthropology from Cambridge University, and an MA in Cultural Heritage Studies from University College London.
