Lilas Abdulmalwa

Lilas Abdulmalwa is a PhD candidate in Preservation of the Architectural Heritage, 34th cycle, Department of Architecture and Urban Studies, Politecnico di Milano ( Head Prof. Maria Cristina Giambruno, Supervisor. Professor. Adalberto Del Bo and Supervisor. Professor. Claudio Chesi).

She is a trained Architect who obtained her B.Sc. at Damascus University, Faculty of Architecture, in 2014. She obtained her M.Sc. in Architecture at Politecnico di Milano in 2017 researching the case of Palmyra; her current PhD studies focuses on the critical reconstruction of historical cities researching the Role of Cultural Heritage in the Post-War Aleppo Transformations; focusing on the relationship between the cultural Identity and city features as an essential element in post-war reconstruction. During the  2018-2019, she was an Assistant at Politecnico di Milano for Master's degree architecture studios and a Co-Supervisor for some Master's graduation project
